# Buildings & Strategy

### **Buildings**

Buildings are the core tools players use to hold territory, break into new areas, and shape their strategy. Every player starts with a free basic set, so progression is based on choices, not on mandatory purchases.\
Additional buildings can be earned in seasons, pulled from loot boxes, or traded on the P2P market.

***

### **Building Types**

CoC uses three functional building classes:

**Defensive**\
Hold territory longer by increasing durability and slowing enemy pushes. Ideal for securing key regions.

**Offensive**\
Break enemy defenses and open new paths for expansion. Used for aggressive map control.

**Special**\
Provide economic boosts or strategic utility (visibility, production, etc.). Support players who focus on long-term positioning and map management.

Each class includes multiple subtypes that offer different strengths and playstyles.

***

### **Upgrades**

Every building can be upgraded up to level 10.\
Upgrades increase power, improve visuals, and raise value on the marketplace. A strong mix of type, rarity, and upgrade level can significantly change how you contest or hold parts of the map.

Upgrading isn’t cosmetic – it affects your ability to win territory clashes, generate resources, and scale faster than nearby competitors.

***

### **Loadout**

Players can equip **up to three different buildings** at any time.\
Your loadout defines your playstyle: defensive turtle, aggressive pusher, economic scaler, or hybrid.
